BC Rugby is pleased to announce an update to its COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy for junior Members aged 5-11.
Due to the closure of several vaccination centres over the holiday period, we are extending the initial 8-week grace period from when the vaccine was first made available to this age range (November 29, 2021) to allow Members aged 5-11 to be fully vaccinated.
Ahead of the 2022 Spring Mini Rugby season, proof of full vaccination must be provided for all BC Rugby Members aged 5-11 by midnight on February 28, 2022 for them to participate in any Rugby activity.
If BC Rugby Members aged 5-11 are participating in any Rugby activity before the end of February, they must be partially vaccinated. Proof of partial vaccination must be provided by January 24, 2022, following the original eight-week grace period from when the vaccine was first offered to this age range.
Unvaccinated Members aged 5-11 are not permitted to participate in any BC Rugby sanctioned activity.
If any Member celebrates their fifth birthday in 2022, the Policy’s grace period of 8 weeks from the date they turn 5 remains in effect. For example, if a Member turns 5 on January 26, 2022, proof of full vaccination must be provided within eight weeks of that date.
