March 31, 2022 – Vancouver: BC Rugby is delighted to announce that the 2022 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals will take place at South Surrey Athletic Park, the home of Bayside Sharks RFC, on Saturday May 7. BC Rugby gratefully acknowledges the 2022 Senior Club Finals will take place on the shared, unceded, traditional territory of the Katzie, Semiahmoo and Kwantlen Nations.
The 2022 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals will feature seven provincial finals from BC Rugby’s Senior Leagues, including championship matches for the BC Rugby Women’s Premier League and Men’s Premier League, sponsored by Onni. The flagship season-ending event makes an exciting return to the BC Rugby calendar following its cancellation in 2020 and 2021 due to the global pandemic.
Teams and Officials With Access To World Class Facilities
These Championship matches will take place in front of Bayside RFC’s newly constructed Club house, providing Teams and Officials with access to world-class facilities while spectators will enjoy the beautiful surrounding grounds which will include a temporary beer garden atop the spectators’ hill.
The 2020 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals was scheduled to be hosted on Vancouver Island before being cancelled due to the global pandemic. BC Rugby intends to host the 2023 Senior Club Finals after a full regular season on Vancouver Island and is working with local authorities and stakeholders to secure a suitable venue.
“We are delighted to announce the return of BC Rugby’s Senior Club Finals after two years of not being able to truly come together as a community.
