In the U14 Girls Island Regional Final, the Comox Valley Rapids defeated Cowichan RFC 50-20 to take home the gold medals and be declared 2023 Island champions!
Meanwhile, Castaway Wanderers RFC clinched the U14 Boys Island Regional Championship with a 10-5 win over Salish Sea Warriors at MacDonald Park. It proved to be a big weekend for the Oak Bay Club, who will have three representatives at the 2023 BC Rugby Age-Grade Club Finals event next weekend.
The U14 Mainland Regional Finals have also been set for both Girls and Boys Divisions, with Finals taking place on Sunday, December 3:
- U14 Girls Mainland Final: Abbotsford RFC vs. United RFC
- U14 Boys Mainland Final: Capilano RFC vs. Abbotsford RFC
As part of BC Rugby’s long-term athlete development pathway, teams from U14 Boys and U14 Girls Divisions contest Regional finals only. This is following the decision to adjust the Age-Grade Bandings for the 2022/23 season and beyond to align with the 2023 Rugby Canada Age-Grade Law Variations and the current BC Bears pathway.
