The 2024 BC Rugby Age-Grade Club Finals event takes place this Sunday, December 8 at Starlight Stadium in Langford – here is everything you need to know about keeping up with the action!
Come and join us for four exciting Finals as the top teams from the Mainland and Island battle it out for Provincial honours! Featuring the U16 Boys, U16 Girls, U18 Boys and U18 Girls Championship Matches, it’s sure to be an action-packed day on Vancouver Island!
Abbotsford RFC tops the billing with three teams vying for glory, while Castaway Wanderers and CV Rapids Rugby are represented by two teams. UBCOB Ravens will be looking to defend their 2023 U18 Boys title – but who will be celebrating on Sunday night?

Washrooms: These are located throughout the stadium – look out for the signposts.
Concessions: Starlight Stadium will have their concession stand open for teams & spectators during the day.
Merchandise: O’Neills will have a merchandise tent on site for the 2024 Age-Grade Club Finals.
Parking: Limited parking is available at the stadium.
WEATHER/CANCELLATION PROTOCOL
Weather Advisory and Cancellation Protocol: Rain and snow can be forecast leading up to and including the Age-Grade Finals Day, BC Rugby will monitor the situation accordingly. Safety is always the primary concern, and we might be forced to make a tough decision at late notice.
In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather or any other unforeseen event, champions may not be able to be determined. This is unless teams agree to rearrange and play out the championship fixture at another venue within 10 days of the original date, in which case BC Rugby will honor the result of the replayed match.
BC Rugby will endeavor to communicate any cancellation to Clubs as quickly as possible after a decision is made.

Schedule: The schedule for all Finals can be found below.
- 10:30am – U16 Boys Gold Final: Abbotsford RFC vs Castaway Wanderers
- 12:30pm – U16 Girls Gold Final: Abbotsford RFC vs CV Rapids Rugby
- 2:15pm – U18 Boys Gold Final: UBCOB Ravens vs Castaway Wanderers
- 4:15pm – U18 Girls Gold Final: Abbotsford RFC vs CV Rapids Rugby
Pre & Post Match Timelines
- 5 mins pre-KO: All Teams must be on the field
- Full-time: Shake hands, Runners-up & Winners Presentations on Field
Warm-up Areas: Teams are asked to warm up away from the fields and in the end zones until the full field is available.
Medal Presentations: Award presentations will take place after each final on the field. Medals will be presented to both the winning team and the runner-up.

All U16 and U18 Age-Grade Club Finals will be livestreamed on December 8. All games will be live-streamed via the BC Rugby YouTube page.

BE PREPARED – CONCUSSION MODULE
BC Rugby’s number one priority is player safety and adheres to World Rugby’s policy of ‘Recognise and Remove’ when dealing with concussions or suspected concussions. Any player suspected or suffering from concussion should be immediately removed from the training session or match, and not permitted to return until they have completed a full Return to Play Protocol and cleared by a physician.

Anyone on or around the Rugby pitch has a responsibility to be aware of the symptoms of concussion and are encouraged to annually complete World Rugby’s online Concussion Management module to learn more. We also strongly encourage parents, guardians, partners or housemates of Rugby players to complete the online module to be informed.
