The 2024 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals line-up has been confirmed – congratulations to all teams that will be competing at Burnaby Lake Rugby Club on Saturday, May 4!
Following a big weekend of Playoff Semi-Final action, the provincial championship matches for eight BC Rugby Senior Club Leagues in the Lower Mainland have been set. All Finals will take place this Saturday, May 4 at Burnaby Lake, in what will be a huge day of Rugby!
The BC Rugby Men’s Premier League Final presented by ONNI will be contested by UBCOB Ravens and Meraloma RFC, with the winners lifting the historic Rounsefell Cup. The Women’s Premier League Final will see defending champions Vancouver Thunderbirds take on Westshore RFC – will the Gordon Harris Memorial Cup be staying on the Mainland or heading across the Strait?
The 2024 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals will be a ticketed event, with all attendees who are 19+ years old requiring a ticket for entry (admission is free for under 19s). Online Presale tickets will cost $15, with in person tickets costing $20 for admission.

Men’s Premier League presented by ONNI
FINAL: UBCOB Ravens vs. Meraloma RFC

The BC Rugby Men’s Premier League presented by ONNI will showcase a fascinating final between the two best teams of the regular season – UBCOB Ravens and Meraloma RFC.
Both sides hold 13-1 records from their respective regular seasons having only lost to each other once. Ravens defeated the defending champions, UBC Thunderbirds, in their semifinal, with Meraloma seeing off the challenge of Westshore RFC.
For the first time post pandemic, the Rounsfell Cup will be lifted by a team other than the UBC Thunderbirds – but which part of Vancouver’s west side will the Cup reside?
Women’s Premier League
FINAL: Vancouver Thunderbirds vs. Westshore RFC

Location: Field 1
Back-to-back defending champions Vancouver Thunderbirds will be after its third successive BC Rugby Women’s Premier League title after finishing its regular season with six wins.
However, they face tough opposition in last year’s beaten Finalists Westshore RFC, whose only regular season defeat came in a close encounter against the Thunderbirds.
Thunderbirds brushed past Capilano RFC in the semifinals to keep hopes of a three-peat alive, while Westshore RFC battled past Oak Bay-based rivals Castaway Wanderers RFC in an all-Island semifinal.
Who will lift the Gordon Harris Memorial Trophy this weekend?
Men’s Premier Reserves
FINAL: UBCOB Ravens vs. UBC Thunderbirds

UBCOB Ravens will be hoping to make it a double celebration across the Premier Divisions as they take on UBC Thunderbirds for the new BC Rugby Premier Reserve League trophy.
Ravens dominated the division in regular season with 13 victories and one defeat, while UBC Thunderbirds finished second in the table with 11 victories from 15 matches.
Ravens put Westshore RFC to the sword in the semifinals as Thunderbirds edged a tight clash with Meraloma to advance.
Expect the final to be tight; both teams scored one victory from each of their regular season meets.
Women’s Division 1
FINAL: Burnaby Lake RFC vs. Meraloma RFC
Time: KO at 1:15 PM PST
Location: Field 2
Home Club Burnaby Lake RFC will take on defending champions Meraloma RFC for the BC Rugby Women’s Division 1 title.
No doubt that this final will attract a big crowd with Burnaby Lake RFC holding a slight home advantage, and Lomas also appearing in the Men’s Premier Final.
Burnaby Lake go into the clash as slight favorites having won six from six in the regular season, before defeating Kamloops RFC in the semifinal.
Meraloma, meanwhile, saw off Abbotsford in their Final Four encounter and will be keen to get revenge for their narrow 17-15 loss to Burnaby earlier in the season.
Men’s Division 1
FINAL: Vancouver Rowing Club RFC vs. Abbotsford RFC
Time: KO at 1:45 PM PST
Location: Field 3
The top two BC Rugby Men’s Division 1 teams throughout the regular season will meet in Saturday’s final to lift the Championship title.
Vancouver Rowing Club RFC makes its return to a season-ending Senior Club Finals following a 12-1 regular season record and semifinal win against Bayside RFC. The Rowers’ only loss came at the hands of their Final opponents, Abbotsford RFC.
Abbotsford RFC finished second in the table with 11wins from 14 matches, and secured its spot in the showpiece match following Playoff wins against Langley Rugby Club and Port Alberni Black Sheep.
In two meetings this season, both Vancouver Rowing Club and Abbotsford RFC have one win each – who will win this Championship decider?
Men’s Division 2
FINAL: Axemen RFC vs. Kamloops RFC
Time: KO at 12:00 PM PST
Location: Field 3
The top two teams of the BC Rugby Men’s Division 2 over the course of the regular season will face off for this year’s Championship in Burnaby.
Axemen RFC, who lifted the Men’s Division 2 trophy at South Surrey Athletic Park in 2022, returns to the final for the second time in three seasons with an undefeated record for the 2023/24 campaign.
Following 13 successive league wins, the Axemen saw off Meraloma RFC with a shutout win in the semifinals to advance.
Kamloops RFC, meanwhile, finished their regular season with 11 wins from 14 matches before defeating defending champions Kats RFC in the semifinals.
Women’s Division 2
FINAL: Comox Valley Kickers vs. United RFC
Time: KO at 11:00 AM PST
Location: Field 1
The top two seeds United RFC and Comox Valley Kickers will battle it out for the BC Rugby Women’s Division 2 title this weekend.
2023 Finalists United RFC finished its regular season with a perfect 12-0 record, before advancing past Cowichan RFC (game cancelled) in the quarterfinals and James Bay AA in a tight semifinal match.
Comox Valley finished second in the regular season table with 10 wins from 12 matches. The Kickers were awarded a 20-0 quarterfinal win over Kelowna Crows (game cancelled) before knocking out the defending champions, Nanaimo Hornets RFC, with a big semifinal victory.
Who will lift the Women’s Division 2 trophy come May 4?
Men’s Division 3
FINAL: Comox Valley Kickers vs. Chilliwack Crusaders RFC
Time: KO at 11:30 AM PST
Location: Field 2
The BC Rugby Men’s Division 3 Final will be contested by defending champions Comox Valley Kickers and Chilliwack Crusaders RFC in what should be a barnstorming Championship match.
The Kickers will have all the experience of last year’s Final win against Richmond to draw upon, while the Crusaders enter the match having already beaten the Kickers 53-5 earlier in the season.
Kickers finished third in the regular season table with 11 wins from 14 matches and defeated Richmond RFC and top-seeded Vancouver Rowing Club RFC in the Playoffs, Crusaders, meanwhile scored 13 wins from 14 matches in regular season before sinking Brit Lions and Axemen RFC to reach the Final.
Can Comox secure back-to-back title wins or will Chilliwack be taking the Cup back to the Fraser Valley?
