The Maple Ridge 2024 BC Summer Games kicks off this Friday, July 19 – here is everything you need to know about the event!
The BC Games Society is the organization responsible for setting the ongoing policy and direction of the BC Winter and BC Summer Games and supporting Team BC at the Canada Games. Based out of Victoria, the Society works in partnership with governments, businesses and not for profit organizations, in and out of the sport sector, in the planning and staging of the Games. The organization serves as a leader in multi-sport event and volunteer management.
The U17 Girls Competition will see seven Zones compete for medals in round robin format across the three-day event.
Teams will arrive and practice on Thursday, July 18 before matches start on July 19.
The following Zones will compete (rosters listed below):
- Zone 1 – Kootenays
- Zone 2 – Thompson-Okanagan
- Zone 3 – Fraser Valley
- Zone 4 – Fraser River
- Zone 5 – Vancouver-Coastal
- Zone 6 – Vancouver Island-Central Coastal
- Zone 8 – Cariboo-North East
Competition Format: Teams will play a single round robin (one game against every other team in the tournament) with points awarded as follows: win is worth 3 points, draw is worth 2, loss is worth 1. Tie-breaking criteria will be provided. Medals will be awarded based on final round robin standings.
