The 2025 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals line-up has been confirmed – congratulations to all teams that will be competing at Abbotsford Exhibition Park on Saturday, May 3!
Following a big weekend of Playoff Semi-Final action, the provincial championship matches for seven BC Rugby Senior Club Leagues in the Lower Mainland have been set.
The BC Rugby Men’s Premier League Final will be contested by defending champions UBCOB Ravens and UBC Thunderbirds, with the winners getting to lift the historic Rounsefell Cup. The Women’s Premier League Final will see defending champions Vancouver Thunderbirds take on Westshore RFC in a repeat of the 2023 Final – will the Gordon Harris Memorial Cup be staying on the Mainland or heading across the Strait?
The 2025 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals will be a ticketed event, with all attendees requiring a ticket for entry (admission is free for under 13s).

The BC Rugby Men’s Premier League will showcase a fascinating final between the two best teams of the regular season – UBCOB Ravens and UBC Thunderbirds.
Top seeds and defending champions UBCOB Ravens will be looking to make it successive Premier League Championships, while UBC Thunderbirds will be aiming to secure its third title in four years. Ravens saw off the challenge of Westshore RFC in the semifinals, while UBC Thunderbirds defeated the 2024 Runners-Up Meraloma RFC in a tightly-contested semifinal.
Ravens go into Saturday’s Final undefeated against UBC this season, having beaten Thunderbirds 29-10 and held them to a 38-38 draw in their regular season encounters.

Women’s Premier League
FINAL: Vancouver Thunderbirds vs. Westshore RFC

Vancouver Thunderbirds is seeking its fourth successive BC Rugby Women’s Premier League title after finishing its regular season with eight wins from nine matches, dropping only to Castaway Wanderers in regular season.
They face regular foes Westshore RFC, who were beaten Finalists in 2023 and 2024 and will be out for revenge in Abbotsford.
Vancouver Thunderbirds brushed past Burnaby Lake RFC in the semifinals to keep hopes of a four-peat alive, while Westshore RFC saw off the challenge of Oak Bay-based rivals Castaway Wanderers RFC in an all-Island semifinal.
Vancouver Thunderbirds defeated Westshore RFC 58-0 in their regular season meet.
Who will lift the Gordon Harris Memorial Trophy this weekend?

FINAL: Nanaimo Hornets RFC* vs. Burnaby Lake RFC

The Men’s Division 1 Final will see Nanaimo Hornets RFC and Burnaby Lake RFC face off for the Championship.
Nanaimo Hornets RFC advance to the Final following a quarter-final win against Port Alberni Black Sheep and semifinal default win over James Bay AA, while Burnaby Lake RFC beat top seeds Meraloma RFC in the quarterfinals before clinching a close victory over #2-seeded UBCOB Ravens in the semifinals.
Both teams have similar records from their regular season and Playoff campaigns, which should make for a fascinating final in Abbotsford.
Women’s Division 1
FINAL: Meraloma RFC vs. Abbotsford RFC

The Women’s Division 1 Final pits the top two seeds from the regular season, with #1-ranked Meraloma RFC aiming for its second Championship in three years against the home side Abbotsford RFC.
The Lomas have had a phenomenal season to date and remain unbeaten in their 15 matches from regular season and Playoffs, defeating Capilano RFC in the semifinals. Hosts Abbotsford finished second in the table, dropping twice to Meraloma RFC in their regular season encounters. Abbotsford saw off the challenge of #3 seeds James Bay in the semifinals.
Will Meraloma cap a perfect season with Championship victory, or will Abbotsford lift the Cup on home soil?
Men’s Division 2
FINAL: Kamloops RFC vs Brit Lions RFC

Location: Field 2
Kamloops RFC will be aiming to go one further in the 2025 Men’s Division 2 Final following an impressive season to date. The 2024 Finalists, beaten by Axemen RFC last year, enter Saturday’s Championship match as top seeds and will face #6 seeds Brit Lions RFC for the title.
Kamloops RFC beat Chilliwack Crusaders RFC and Richmond RFC to book their spot in Abbotsford, while Brit Lions RFC will be more than ready for the challenge having seen off #3 seeds Kelowna and #2-ranked Kats RFC in an impressive Playoff campaign.

Women’s Division 2
FINAL: Comox Valley Kickers vs. Nanaimo Hornets RFC

Location: Field 2
Defending champions and #2-seeded Comox Valley Kickers will be aiming to make it back-to-back Championship wins at the 2025 Senior Club Finals, but will face a spirited Nanaimo Hornets RFC team for the Ged Griffiths Cup.
#4 seeds Nanaimo Hornets RFC will be looking for their second Championship in three years, having lifted the Women’s Division 2 trophy in 2023.
Comox saw off Vancouver Rowing Club and Kelowna Crows RFC in the Playoffs, while Nanaimo defeated SFU Rugby and the Chilliwack Crusaders RFC to advance.
The final is nicely poised, with both teams tasting victory in their two regular season matches.
Men’s Division 3
FINAL: Langley RFC vs. Burnaby Lake RFC
Time: KO at 10:15 AM PST
Location: Field 1
The BC Rugby Men’s Division 3 Final will be contested by Burnaby Lake RFC and Langley RFC in Abbotsford in what should be a tightly-contested final.
#4-seeded Burnaby Lake RFC toppled top-seeded Bayside Sharks RFC in the semifinals, having already seen off #5-ranked Capilano RFC in the quarterfinals. #2-seeded Langley RFC were awarded a bye to the semifinals, where they defeated #3-ranked Axemen RFC to reach this weekend’s Championship match.
The final will be tense, with both teams securing victory over each other in their regular season encounters. Interestingly, both teams won away from home with Langley triumphing 34-19 at Burnaby Lake before Burnaby got a 12-7 revenge in the Fraser Valley.
