The 2026 BC Rugby Vancouver Sevens Invitational takes place on March 5-7 at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Centre and BC Place Stadium – here is everything you need to know about the event!
In partnership with Sport Hosting Vancouver, the 2026 VSI kicks off at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Centre and will provide a complete Rugby Sevens experience for all participants, combining thrilling competition with the opportunity to watch world-class international Sevens at Vancouver’s BC Place.
Taking place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation in the week leading up to the HSBC SVNS Vancouver, the VSI aims to foster the growth of competitive Rugby Sevens throughout BC and serves as a key event on the 2026 BC Bears 7s Pathway.
The tournament will culminate with the U18 Gold Medal Matches taking place at Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium as part of the 2026 HSBC SVNS Vancouver program on Saturday, March 7.
In hosting VSI, BC Rugby gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Sport Hosting Vancouver and the Province of British Columbia.

Competition Purpose: The purpose of the Vancouver Sevens Invitational (VSI) is to foster the growth of competitive Rugby throughout British Columbia and Canada. The VSI aims to provide stage appropriate competition to motivate, challenge and inspire young Players, as well as Coaches and Officials.
Merchandise: There will be a merchandise stall on site with limited VSI and BC Rugby merchandise available – get yours before stock sells out!
Concessions: Indish, Green Coast Coffee and Mom’s Grilled Cheese Food Trucks will be on site throughout the event . Please bring your reusable water bottle for the weekend and fill it up at the water stations located throughout the facility.
Pre-Game Tunnel Procedure: Five minutes prior to scheduled kickoff, all teams must be ready, with water, equipment, etc., in the tunnel (washrooms and water source available at the tunnel) located under the main grandstand. Teams and Officials will check in with the tunnel supervisor and be guided to the tunnel line up arrangement. Two minutes prior to scheduled kickoff, teams will be announced to run out in order of Field 3, Field 1, and Field 2. This allows everyone to start on time.
U18 Finals: The U18 Boys and Girls Finals will take place at BC Place Stadium on Saturday, March 7 as part of the HSBC SVNS Vancouver program. The U18 Boys Final takes place at 1:53pm PST, while the U18 Girls Final takes place at 5:41pm PST.
Award Presentations: U16 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals will be presented on Field 2 immediately after the U16 finals at 2:18pm on Day 2 (Friday, March 6). U18 Bronze Medals will be presented on Field 2 immediately after the U18 3rd-place matches. U18 Boys and Girls Gold Medals will be handed out after each U18 final at BC Place Saturday March 7.
