BC Rugby’s 2026 Vancouver Sevens Invitational (VSI) concluded on Saturday following three epic days of grassroots Rugby 7s action in Vancouver.
The annual event, hosted in partnership with Sport Hosting Vancouver alongside the HSBC SVNS Vancouver, saw three thrilling days of grassroots Rugby 7s action as teams travelled in from the U.S., Alberta, Yukon and Ontario to face off against BC’s regional and provincial teams.
Taking place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation, the 2026 VSI crowned four champions across U16 and U18 Boys and Girls Divisions.
The tournament culminated with the U18 Boys and Girls Gold Medal Matches hosted at Vancouver’s BC Place on Saturday, March 7 during the HSBC SVNS Vancouver event, which featured BC’s U18 Girls Provincial team, Rugby Ontario Blues Teams and the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy from the United States.
Thursday and Friday’s action saw 101 games take place during a hectic day at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Centre. Over 1000 people enjoyed perfect weather for Thursday’s Pool matches, before the heavens opened overnight.
However, the constant downpour and sodden fields failed to dampen Friday’s atmosphere as the excitement reached fever pitch during a thrilling Championship Day.
Below is a full recap of the action.
In hosting VSI, BC Rugby gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Sport Hosting Vancouver and the Province of British Columbia
