BC Rugby is delighted to announce key details for the 2026 BC Bears U18 7s Pathway building up to the 2026 Global Youth Sevens in New Zealand, with interested athletes asked to fill out the Expression of Interest Form below.
2026 is set to be a busy year for U18 7s Rugby in BC, with several events building up to the announcement of the 13 athletes selected to represent the BC Bears U18 Boys 7s and BC Bears U18 Girls 7s Teams that will travel to the 2026 Global Youth Sevens tournament in December 2026.
Two BC teams will compete in each of the U18 Boys and Girls Divisions at the 2026 Vancouver Sevens Invitational on March 5-7, 2026.
Ahead of VSI, BC Bears 7s Head Coaches Darcy Patterson (U18 Girls) and Jake Thiel (U18 Boys) will host Selection Camps in January and February 2026 for up to 60 athletes. Thirty spaces will be used for pre-determined known athletes, while the remaining 30 spaces will be used for other interested athletes.
Athletes interested in representing BC at the 2026 VSI must fill out this form by December 31, 2025. U18 Birth Years for the 2026 VSI is 2008, 2009.
On July 22-26, the 2026 BC Summer Games returns to Kelowna with eight regions battling it out in Rugby 7s across the U17 Girls bracket. The timing of the BC Summer Games, however, does conflict with U17 BC Bears XVs Programming, so athletes will need to bear this in mind.
The 2026 Kamloops 7s will once again return in September 2026 as warm-up to the Global Youth Sevens event.
