BC Rugby is delighted to reveal the new BC Bears playing kit, manufactured and provided by our official kit supplier X-Treme Rugby Wear, that will be worn by all of Provincial Representative teams for the 2022/23 season.
This new era sees all Age-Grade and Senior Provincial Representative Teams for XVs and 7s formats proudly and collectively represent the BC Bears brand. Previously, only the Senior Men’s team were recognized as the BC Bears.
With all BC Bears teams wearing this unique kit, we aim to create unity and champion a greater sense of team, identity, and consistency between our Provincial Representative sides. We hope all athletes are proud to #WearTheBear and represent a unified BC both on and off the field.
Provincial Pride and Unity
The exclusive new kits showcase BC Rugby’s striking new navy and gold brand colours. The navy home jersey is accented by gold and white details, while the away jersey features a bold, gold base colour with navy and white trims.
Each new jersey features three distinct logos. For the first time in BC Rugby history, all jerseys feature the Progress Pride Flag on the left sleeve as we continue our journey to be the safest, most vibrant, and inclusive Rugby community.
The refreshed BC Bear logo sits proudly over the heart on the left chest. This iconic image is highly recognisable with over a decade of history behind it.

Finally, the BC Rugby Shield is featured on the right sleeve, referencing the organization’s rich heritage and exciting future. The Province of British Columbia has a strong Rugby history and has been represented by Provincial Teams for well over a century. Our teams have toured, hosted and played the world’s biggest and best Rugby teams including the likes of Australia, New Zealand, England and the British & Irish Lions.
Both jerseys are complemented by classic-look navy shorts featuring the new BC Bears logo, with navy and gold socks completing our teams’ new look.

Ready For Action – The return of the BC Bears
The new kits will see plenty of action this summer, debuting this weekend as the BC Bears U16 and U18 Boys and Girls teams face the Washington Loggers as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2022 Western Canadian Championships in Kelowna.
The Senior Women’s team will also don the new kit in Kelowna, while the BC Bears U19 Boys will wear both navy and gold kits at the 2022 Canadian U19 Rugby Championships in Guelph, Ontario this August.
The kit will also be worn by Team BC for the inaugural Rugby 7s Competition at the 2022 Canada Summer Games in Niagara, Ontario, in August.
The Senior Men’s Team will return in late 2022 – stay tuned for more news on this!
