BC Rugby is pleased to announce two upcoming ID and Development Sessions for the BC Bears U16 and U18 Boys XVs Programs taking place on the Mainland and Island.
The Sessions are for U16 male athletes born 2008-2009 and U18 male athletes born 2006-2007, and mark an incredible opportunity for aspiring elite athletes to make their mark on their field in hopes of being selected for a Bears Team this Summer. The Sessions will be led by U18 BC Bears Head Coach, Jon Mergui, and U16 BC Bears Head Coach, Leana Marton, alongside their program staff, and will be a crucial step in identifying and developing top talent with ambition to play at the next pathway level.
“With the Eagle impact Academy booked to come and test our Provincial Boys Bears Teams in a two-match series this Summer, we will need to have a competitive internal selection that will ensure we are fielding the strongest possible sides to compete. With the build into and from the High-School Season followed by BC Rugby’s Provincial Regional Championships, we should have very strong athletes for both our U18 and U16 Bears Teams.” BC Rugby Technical Director, John Tait
The Mainland Session will take place from 12:30pm-3:00pm at Langley Rugby Club (Alumni Field) on Sunday, April 14, and the Island Session will take place from 12:30pm-3:00pm at Shawnigan Lake School on Sunday, April 28.
All attendees must be registered BC Rugby Members. Pre-registration via the below link is mandatory: on-the-day registrations will not be accepted. There is a one-time registration fee of $25 to offset associated field costs. Players only need to attend one session.
