BC Rugby is delighted to announce a joint Women’s Identification and Development Camp for the BC Bears U19 Program and Rugby Canada National U20 Program in February 2024, aimed at athletes born in 2004-2005.
Registration is now open for the two-day camp which will take place at UBC’s Vancouver campus on February 17-18, 2024.
The camp will be utilized for identification and development of athletes suitable for the BC Bears U19 Women’s Program, as well as the National U20 Program. Coaches from both programs will be working together over the weekend to assess and develop potential athletes for the 2024 Summer campaigns.
“This an incredible opportunity for outstanding female athletes born in the years 2004-2005. We are on the lookout for athletes eligible for selection to the BC Bears U19 Program as well as the U20 National program, and we believe this camp will be a crucial step in identifying and further developing top talent with the ambition to play at the next pathway level,” said BC Rugby Technical Director, John Tait.
Rugby Canada U20 Women’s Head Coach, Dean Murten, will be leading the sessions alongside the BC Bears U19 Women’s Coaches. This is a unique opportunity for participants to learn from one of the best in the field.
“Rugby Canada is in the final stages of planning the U20 program, and it’s looking exciting. It’s great to be working with BC Rugby in the ID and selection process for Canada U20. I am excited to see the talent on show over the weekend,” said Dean Murten.
