Rugby Canada has announced its Men’s Sevens squad for the upcoming HSBC Singapore Sevens, with British Columbia once again well represented.
Head Coach Henry Paul has confirmed his 13-man roster, presented by Velocity Trade, for the event, which takes place April 9-10.
Back in the squad for the first time since the 2020 Los Angeles Sevens, David Richard makes his much-anticipated return from injury. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Brock Webster comes back into the fray after being unavailable for the Spain Sevens in January and following a stint with Major League Rugby’s Toronto Arrows.
Brennig Prevost (Victoria, BC), Lachlan Kratz (Victoria, BC) and Jarvis Dashkewytch (Tsawwassen, BC) are also back in the roster after missing the Malaga and Seville events, while D’Shawn Bowen – who was with the Pacific Pride during the Spain Sevens – makes the squad with an opportunity to build on his debut in Dubai last year. Phil Berna will captain the side.
“We are really happy to have some key players back from injury for the upcoming Singapore Sevens. We have a strong roster, which includes some younger, up-and-coming players who will continue to gain vital experience. All the players are looking forward to competing and for the opportunity to showcase their skills at the highest level.” Rugby Canada Men’s Sevens Head Coach Henry Paul
Following the Singapore Sevens, Paul’s side will return home for the HSBC Canada Sevens at BC Place in Vancouver, BC. Tickets, with limited availability in some categories, can be purchased here.
