BC Rugby has issued the following statement on the December 21, 2021 update to the Public Health Order. 

As of December 21, 2021, the Provincial Government of BC announced the following updated restrictions to the current Public Health Order that will come into effect at 11:59 PM on December 22, 2021 and are currently set to last until January 18, 2022.

All adult gyms, fitness centres and dance studios are closed

Indoor organized gatherings of any size are not allowed

Bars, nightclubs and lounges are closed

As a result, indoor training, and gatherings inside Clubhouses are impacted. BC Rugby asks all Members and Member organizations to follow the current PHO guidelines in place.

Furthermore, as of December 20, 2021, the following restrictions remain in place until January 31, 2022 at the earliest:

All sports tournaments and related travel are cancelled

BC Rugby is seeking clarification on what this means regarding the start of the 2022 Spring Season. We appreciate your patience as we await the updated, written PHO from the Provincial Government of BC, as well as further guidance from viaSport.
