BC Rugby can confirm that the match result from the 2023/24 BC Rugby Women’s Division 1 Final between Burnaby Lake RFC and Meraloma RFC has been defaulted due to Burnaby Lake RFC fielding an ineligible player.

Following a written dispute received by BC Rugby on May 9, 2024 and robust investigation by the BC Rugby Fall/Spring Competitions Committee, Burnaby Lake RFC was found to have knowingly fielded an ineligible player in the Women’s Division 1 Final per Rules 6.6 (a), 7.6 and 7.7 of the BC Rugby Senior Rules of Competition.

As such, the BC Rugby Fall/Spring Competitions Committee decided to overturn the Women’s Division 1 Final result and issued a fine to Burnaby Lake RFC. Both Clubs have been notified of this decision.
