The weekend marks the first 7s tournament of the 2022 season, as well as the start of the fifth Canada West Rugby 7s season. Vikes are three-time defending champions, having captured titles in 2018, 2019 and 2020. The 2021 Canada West Rugby 7s Series was cancelled in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The University of Victoria will host the second leg of the Series on February 12-13, with the Series wrapping up at UBC in Vancouver on February 25-26.
The Series is being streamed on Canada West TV. For a full Series breakdown, visit Canada West.
