BC Rugby is delighted to announce the return of our Girls Can Rugby campaign alongside the WXV 1 coming to Vancouver and Langley!

Aimed at empowering young girls to try out the sport in a fun and supportive environment, this initiative has been a crucial part of BC Rugby’s mission to grow the game at all levels. The campaign aims to get more girls involved in the sport at BC Rugby Clubs through Try Rugby Days.

This initiative is running from September 23 – October 12, with BC Rugby Clubs being able to run their free Girls Can Rugby session on any day that works best for them.

The excitement doesn’t stop there: 2024 will also see the world’s best Women’s Rugby teams arriving in the region as Vancouver and Langley host matches for the prestigious WXV 1. This global tournament is a game-changer, showcasing top-tier international talent right here in British Columbia. Rugby fans of all ages will have the chance to experience world-class action while celebrating the growth of women’s rugby, both locally and globally.

BC Rugby’s Girls Can Rugby program will coincide with WXV 1, offering young players the chance to witness their heroes on the international stage while taking their first steps into the sport. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to be part of rugby history in BC!

As part of the initiative, four Clubs that host Girls Can Rugby Days will be drawn on September 23 – those Clubs will be invited onto the field at half time during WXV 1 matches for special activations on October 6 (Langley) and/or October 12 at BC Place.
