The BC Bears U18 Girls 7s are in action at the 2023 Global Youth Sevens Gold Coast this coming weekend – here is everything you need to know.
The Bears are one of 21 teams descending on Bond University for what will be an epic weekend of action. Led by Head Coach Darcy Patterson, the Bears will face tough opposition in the Renegades 32 Blue, Australian Cavaliers and Nauru.

The team will be coached by Darcy Patterson, while the squad will also be joined by athletic therapist Randy Hunter.
The selection process for the BC Bears U18 Elite Girls 7s team was very competitive and took into account key events throughout the BC Rugby season, including the 2023 Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs), 2023 Western Canadian Championships and the 2023 Kamloops 7s.
ABOUT THE GLOBAL YOUTH SEVENS
Global Youth Sevens (formerly the World School Sevens) is an international U18 Sevens Rugby tournament that has been in existence since 2016. It has featured over 100 teams over the last six years including teams from USA, Canada, Japan, Fiji, Australia, Samoa, Nauru and New Zealand. The tournament features national representative teams and composite teams including New Zealand Tongans, New Zealand Samoans and NZ Niue.
