BC Rugby is gearing up for a monumental 2026 season: one that promises bigger events, bolder initiatives, and exciting new opportunities for players, coaches, officials, and fans across the province.
After several years of encouraging growth and momentum throughout the rugby community, 2026 is shaping up to be a watershed moment that will elevate the sport to new heights in British Columbia.
Across the calendar, BC Rugby aims to enhance many of its marquee events, offering more touchpoints for members and supporters to engage with the game. The goal is simple: to showcase the very best of BC’s rugby talent while creating unforgettable moments for athletes and supporters alike.
2025 was another huge year for the organisation – check out a few of the major numbers below!
Early in the year, BC Rugby will unveil several exciting announcements that set the tone for an ambitious season ahead. From the BC Bears to partnerships and a new Strategic Plan, there is plenty to be excited about in 2026.
The early months will see our Senior Club Leagues return as the race for the Play-Offs and the 2026 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals begin. We then transition to our Northern and Interior Summer Leagues, with all eyes on August’s Saratoga Cup!
March will see the return of the Vancouver Sevens Invitational, alongside the HSBC SVNS Vancouver at BC Place, before we enter a busy summer of Rugby for junior athletes.
The Provincial Regional Leagues kick off in June before the Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs) return early July, showcasing the best-on-best in regional action
Attention then shifts to what will be another exciting BC Bears XVs season starting in mid July. More information on our 2026 BC Bears XVs pathway will be released soon!
The 2026 BC Summer Games comes to Kelowna in July, which sees eight zones compete in Rugby 7s across the U17 Girls bracket.
We’ll then be getting ready for the 2026/27 Club Season in September-October, featuring our Senior and Junior Club Leagues, as well as Age-Grade 7s Season – including the marquee Kamloops 7s event in September.
In December, our Age-Grade Club Leagues will wrap up at the 2026 BC Rugby Age-Grade Club Finals before our BC Bears U18 7s Programs head to New Zealand for the 2026 Global Youth Sevens.
Off the field, BC Rugby will continue to focus on community development, coach and match official education, and inclusive initiatives that reflect the organisation’s core values.
From strengthened partnerships to elevated events, from youth programming to heightened competition across all levels, 2026 is shaping up to be a transformative year for BC Rugby. While full details will be revealed in the months ahead, one thing is already clear: the stage is set for our biggest and most exciting year yet.
