It is with great sadness that BC Rugby acknowledges the passing of Dennis Eden. A pillar of the Rugby community for over 30 years, Dennis was a much-loved individual who dedicated his time, passion, and expertise in helping make Rugby in BC an enjoyable sport for all.
A long time Member of Langley RFC and the Kelowna Crows RFC, Dennis was also longstanding volunteer Member of BC Rugby’s Discipline Committee and assisted with Appeals matters throughout his tenure.
Dennis will be fondly remembered for his wealth of Rugby knowledge and the love he had for the sport, as well as his infectious humour and storytelling ability.
Over the years, Dennis took up various roles at Langley and Kelowna but his passion for the sport never waned. After running the Clubhouse and serving as Club Secretary throughout the 1990s, Dennis was honoured with a Lifetime Membership at the Langley Rugby Club in 2001. He and his family continued to help with the Club’s social activities during the early 2000s before moving to Kelowna.
Dennis was integral to the Kelowna Crows RFC over the past decade, whether he was taking photos at all Club events or assisting the Executive Committee.
He would always travel back to Langley whenever his two Clubs played against each other, so he could support both teams and visit old friends.
The BC Rugby Board, past and present, recognizes the substantial contributions that Dennis made to the Rugby community in the Province. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.
