It is with profound sorrow that the family of Walter William Foss announces his peaceful passing on January 8, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on November 7, 1959, to Ivan and Bertha Foss, Walter was a passionate, caring, and gentle man who was a great mentor and leader for everyone he crossed paths with.

Walter grew up on a family dairy farm in Fort Langley with his parents and siblings Ivan, Keith, Dorothy, Earl, John, Chris, Bonnie, Shelley, and Cheryl. Early in Walter’s life, he was introduced to one of his first great loves, rugby, at Fort Junior High. As a young man Walter loved travelling the world and experiencing all of life’s adventures. He also got the opportunity to visit the United Kingdom on various rugby tours, making lifelong friends along the way.

For the past 30 years Walter’s life has revolved around his children. He was an extremely involved parent, supporting and encouraging all the kids’ sports and interests. From participating in cattle drives when the kids were young to coaching almost every rugby team the kids were on. Walter was their number one fan and supporter and made it known how proud he was of their accomplishments and achievements.

His legacy not only lives on through his children, William (Emma), Wesley (Mikayla), and Katie, but through the many lives he has touched through his coaching and community involvement at the Langley Rugby Club.
