BC Rugby and BC Grassroots Rugby Foundation combine to offer 85 paid roles this Summer

BC Rugby is delighted to announce funding has been granted for 85 paid Rugby roles throughout British Columbia this summer, thanks to the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
This will include 39 paid positions across multiple roles with BC Rugby and 46 paid positions across multiple roles with BC Grassroots Rugby Foundation. Combined, this provides 85 paid positions to get involved in Rugby this summer.

Both BC Rugby and BC Grassroots Rugby Foundation are focused on providing several opportunities for young people to reconnect with Rugby, or discover the sport for the first time. Pending changes to Public Health Orders, BC Rugby is also making plans to deliver and support Clubs in offering summer touch leagues.

BC Rugby is recruiting 32 experienced Age-Grade coaches to deliver High-Performance Summer Camps in Surrey, Kelowna, Vancouver and Mill Bay. Coaches are encouraged to only apply for positions in their region. These camps are in lieu of BC’s Provincial Regional Championships, and appointments will be made in consultation with appropriate regional representatives.
The High-Performance Camps will officially be announced late May and will target U19/U18 and U16 male and female athletes aspiring to play elite Rugby (15s or 7s formats).
Coaches applying for High-Performance Summer Camp positions would need to be available for the following dates/times:
Fraser Valley Region: Newton Athletic Park, Surrey, BC; Monday July 5 – Thursday July 8, from 8:00AM – 1:00PM daily
Interior Region: Parkinson Recreation Fields, Kelowna, BC; Monday July 12 – Thursday July 15, from 8:00AM – 1:00PM daily
Vancouver Coastal Region: University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC; Monday July 19 – Thursday July 22, from 8:00AM – 1:00PM daily
Island Region: Brentwood College School, Mill Bay, BC; Monday July 26 – Thursday July 29, from 8:00AM – 1:00PM daily

Through the Canada Summer Jobs program, there are an additional 7 paid positions across multiple roles.
We are recruiting one High-Performance intern to support the delivery of our High-Performance Summer Camps and athlete testing. The successful applicant should be based in Vancouver but have the means to travel to our Summer Camps throughout the Province.
We are also recruiting 6 event coordinators to support the delivery of Summer Touch programs in Prince George, Langley, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Langford and Vancouver.

Apply for Grassroots Rugby Foundation Positions Now
BC Grassroots Rugby Foundation Rugby provides programs for youth aged 5 to 18 years old, as a vehicle for social engagement.
Thanks to funding from Canada Summer Jobs, BC Grassroots Rugby Foundation is recruiting 30 coaches to deliver programming in Victoria, Saanich, Langford, Cowichan, Port Alberni, Comox, Nanaimo and Kelowna this summer.
Recruited coaches will be provided a free NCCP Level 1 Coaching Course, granted and delivered by BC Rugby.
BC Grassroots Rugby Foundation is also recruiting another 16 positions to support the administration and delivery of programs at all the above locations.
In addition, any Grassroots players will get $10 off their registration when they join a BC Rugby Member Club for the 2021 Fall Age-Grade Season.
