BC Rugby is excited to announce the BC Blue and BC Gold U18 Boys and Girls 7s Rosters for the upcoming 2026 VSI tournament to be held at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Centre on March 5-7 in Vancouver.
Our Blue and Gold 7s Teams will represent BC in the U18 Boys and Girls Pools across two action-packed days in Vancouver, as the city enjoys full Rugby 7s fever alongside the HSBC SVNS Vancouver at BC Place – buy your tickets now and support the BC Bears.
Jake Thiel (Gold) and Ciaran Breen/Jamie MacKenzie (Blue) will Coach the U18 Boys teams, with Darcy Patterson/Shalaya Valenzuela (Gold) and Julia Sugawara (Blue) leading the U18 Girls teams. The full rosters are listed below.

JOIN US AT 2026 VSI!
In partnership with Sport Hosting Vancouver, the 2026 VSI will take place at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Centre and will provide a complete Rugby Sevens experience for all participants, combining thrilling competition with the opportunity to watch world-class international Sevens at Vancouver’s BC Place.
Taking place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation in the week leading up to the HSBC SVNS Vancouver, the VSI aims to foster the growth of competitive Rugby Sevens throughout BC and serves as a key event on the 2026 BC Bears 7s Pathway.
The 2026 VSI is an integral part of the Sevens pathway for BC athletes, with the return the BC Summer Games in July 2026 and BC Bears 7s teams heading to the Global Youth Sevens in December.
