BC Rugby is delighted to announce that the BC Bears Subsidy Program is back for 2023, with $20,000 in funding support available to players aspiring to representative-level Rugby.
First introduced in 2017, the Player Subsidy Program provides financial support to players in need selected to represent BC Bears Age-Grade teams, in the form of discounts applied against team fees.
Since its launch, BC Rugby has provided over $80,000 of support through the Player Subsidy Program to help ease the financial cost of playing representative Rugby. We continue to support the BC Bears Age-Grade teams in action this year with a further $20,000 of allocated support.
2023 Applications are now open for the Player Subsidy Program. The subsidies available for the BC Bears 2023 Age-Grade Representative Teams are:
- $ 500.00
- $ 750.00
- $ 1,000.00

To apply for the Player Subsidy Program, click the button below and complete the form by Monday, July 10, 2023.
Please send your letter of support as detailed in the form to npryce-baff@bcrugby.com prior to July 10.
*Please note: This application is solely for the purpose of players subsidies. This application will not have impact on the BC Bears selection process.

July 10 – Deadline for online applications to Player Subsidy Program
July 10 – Players informed of selection to BC Bears Representative Programs
July 12 – Outcome of Subsidy application shared with applicants
July 17 – Deadline for accepting selection to BC Bears Representative Programs
PAYMENT PLANS AND OTHER FUNDING
BC Rugby offers a flexible payment plan for players’ fees to further reduce the financial barriers for selected athletes. Upon registration, players can select a payment plan option.
