UBC Thunderbirds enjoyed a stellar weekend at the 2024 Canada West Women’s Rugby 7s Championships, claiming their second-straight title while the UVic Vikes clinched silver and TWU Spartans finished 5th.
With a dominant 19-0 victory over the Victoria Vikes in the Championships’ Final, the UBC Thunderbirds made it back-to-back Canada West Rugby 7’s Championships at Willoughby Community Park Stadium on Saturday, February 24, in Langley, B.C.
The Thunderbirds finished the final tournament of the season with a 5-0 record to end the CW season in top spot with 28 points. The Victoria Vikes earned silver after going 4-1 and concluding their 7s run with 26 points and a 12-2 overall record. The Spartans rallied to clinch a win in the Final Tournament, going 1-3 and finishing in fifth with 7 points.
