The University of Victoria Vikes holds the top spot in the Canada West 7s after going 4-0 at the Edmonton 7s hosted by the University of Alberta on January 20-21.
The Vikes defeated the Alberta Pandas (29-0) and Lethbridge Pronghorns (31-5) during Saturday’s action to share the lead with UBC after Day 1.
The Vikes then defeated the Calgary Dinos (26-0) and the Thunderbirds (28-10) to clinch top spot and bring the 10 points back to BC.
Defending Canada West champions Thunderbirds, meanwhile, finished second with 8 points following three wins and one loss. Defeat to the Vikes ended the dominant 18-game winning streak for UBC.
