Welcome to the BC Rugby 2024/25 Senior Club Season page. Here you will find all information related to the 2024/25 Senior Club Season, including Play-Off Formats and key dates for the year.
The Senior Club Rugby season traditionally starts in September and ends with the Club Finals in May. Club Rugby is the lifeblood of Rugby in BC. With over 60 registered Clubs in the Province, there is usually lots of competitive XVs and 7s action taking place throughout the year.

2024/25 Senior Club Structures
Below outlines the structures of the seven divisions for the 2024/25 Senior Club League Competitions. Division structure and formats have been developed based on feedback from Clubs to ensure alignment with BC Rugby’s Strategic Priorities and providing a product which is fit for purpose for all those involved in our game.
All games and game times will be published on Sportlomo and can be found in the BC Rugby App. Please refer to the Sportlomo or the BC Rugby app for the most up to date information.
Senior Men’s Leagues
Men’s Premier League
The Men’s Premier League features 10 Teams and is the Elite Men’s league competing under Premier League rules. These teams will play each team in the Division once. They will play those teams in their region (Lower Mainland or Vancouver Island) both at Home and Away. All games will count towards final standings for Play-Offs.
Men’s Division 1
The Men’s Division 1 features 18 Teams split across Mainland and Vancouver Island regions and is a competitive league aimed at growing and developing established 15s teams. These teams will play each team in the Division both at Home and Away. These teams will compete under the Club Competition Rules. All games will count towards final standings for Play-Offs.
Men’s Division 2
The Men’s Division 2 features 12 Teams and is aimed at an entry point for Club programs that consistently field more than 15 players supporting Clubs to develop their more established programs. These teams will compete under the Club Competition Rules. All games will count towards final standings for Play-Offs.
Men’s Division 3
The Men’s Division 3 features 9 Teams aimed at supporting multi-team Clubs developing teams with new or growing programs with a lens on participation and developing programs throughout the province. Where possible teams have been paired with other teams at their Club to be able to reduce travel costs. These teams will compete under the Club Competition Rules. All games will count towards final standings for Play-Offs.
Senior Women’s Leagues
Women’s Premier League
The Women’s Premier League will be contested by six teams across 11 rounds competing under Premier League rules. Defending champions Vancouver Thunderbirds’ first team entering in the Spring due to their Canada West commitments in the Fall. The Thunderbirds’ first team will also be exempt from making Play-Offs as they are only able to contest six fixtures.
Women’s Division 1
The Women’s Division 1 will be contested by 8 teams. Teams will play each team twice in this division. These teams will compete under the Club Competition Rules. All games will count towards final standings for Play-Offs and all Teams will progress through to the Play-Offs.
Women’s Division 2
The Women’s Division 2 features 15 Teams with the aim to support developing teams with new or growing programs, primarily focused on smaller format games with a lens on participation and developing programs throughout the province. Teams have been pooled based on location i.e. Lower Mainland/Interior or Vancouver Island, to reduce travel. These teams will compete under the Club Competition Rules. All games will count towards final standings for Play-Offs.
2024/25 Senior Club Schedules
BC Rugby is delighted to announce the 2024/25 Senior Club Schedules have been confirmed for all Divisions. All Clubs have received schedules and fixtures will be uploaded into Sportlomo ahead of the season’s start.

2024/25 Senior Club Season – Key Dates
Mark your calendars for the 2024/25 BC Rugby Senior Club Season!
All Divisions will get at least two Make-Up weekends throughout the season should Clubs require them, while no matches are slated for Thanksgiving weekend (October 12), HSBC SVNS Vancouver weekend (February 22) or Easter weekend (April 22). The winter break will take place between December 14 and January 25. Limited matches will take place on both Remembrance Day weekend (November 9) and Family Day weekend (February 15).
The BC Rugby Senior Club Play-Offs return in Spring, with Quarter-Final weekend slated for April 12. Semi-Finals will then take place on April 26, before the 2024/25 Senior Club Season concludes at the 2025 BC Rugby Senior Club Finals on May 3, 2025.

- February 15: Family Day Weekend (limited games)
- February 22: HSBC SVNS Vancouver (no games)
- April 5: Make Up Weekend
- April 12: BC Rugby Senior Club Quarter-Finals
- April 19: Easter Weekend (no games)
- April 26: BC Rugby Senior Club Semi-Finals
- May 3: BC Rugby Senior Club Finals
Dunbar Keg and Coastal Cup Information
Both the Coastal Cup and U20 Dunbar Keg Competitions will return in 2024, kicking off on September 7.
The Coastal Cup will be contested by the Pacific Pride, UBC Thunderbirds, UVIC Vikes and TWU Spartans, while the U20 Dunbar Keg Regional Competition will see the Vancouver Island Tide, TORA (Thompson-Okanagan Rugby Alliance), Vancouver Wave and Fraser Valley compete for honours.

Concussion Modules – Get Prepared For The New Season!
When it comes to Rugby, safety and player welfare is the most important thing. Whether you are playing Senior Rugby for your Club or signing your child up for Rookie Rugby, we want you to have a safe and positive experience. There are lots of resources to help protect both your physical and mental wellbeing in Rugby.

BC Rugby adheres to World Rugby’s policy of “Recognize and Remove” when dealing with concussions or suspected concussions. Anyone on or around the Rugby pitch has a responsibility to be aware of the symptoms of concussion and are encouraged to complete World Rugby’s online Concussion Management module. We strongly encourage parents, guardians, partners or housemates of Rugby players to complete the online module to be informed.
Rugby Canada Club Marketing Toolkit
Rugby Canada has produced a Club Marketing Tool resource to assist Clubs with their marketing and communication needs. The tool is available in English and French.
