The 2024 Vancouver Sevens Invitational takes place on February 22-23 at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Rugby Centre in Vancouver – here is all you need to know about keeping up with the action!
The two-day tournament returns to the BC Rugby calendar for the first time since 2020 and will take place at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Centre on February 22-23, 2024 ahead of the 2024 HSBC SVNS Vancouver. The event will provide a complete Sevens experience for participants, with gameplay and the opportunity to watch world-class international competition at BC Place.
Taking place in the week leading up to the 2024 HSBC SVNS Vancouver, the VSI aims to provide appropriate competition to motivate, challenge and inspire young athletes, Coaches and Officials, and bring together elite youth 7s players from across all regions of BC.
BC Rugby acknowledges the 2024 VSI will take place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation.

The 2024 VSI will be live-streamed by BC Rugby. All action from Fields 1 and 2 will be livestreamed throughout Thursday, February 22 and Friday, February 23.

MEDAL PRESENTATIONS
Bronze and gold medal matches for each division will take place simultaneously on Fields 1 and 2 on Friday afternoon. Presentations for each division’s gold, silver and bronze medals will take place immediately after their finals. Medals will be presented between Fields 1 and 2 in front of the grandstand.
REMINDER: All parents and fans MUST remain in the grandstand for medal presentations as we are on a tight schedule with game times.
Approximate Timings:
11:20 am PST – U15 Girls Presentations (Gold, Silver, Bronze)
1:20 pm PST – U16 Boys Presentations (Gold, Silver, Bronze)
2:00 pm PST – U18 Girls Presentations (Gold, Silver, Bronze)
2:40 pm PST – U18 Boys Presentations (Gold, Silver, Bronze)

Parking (Venue): The primary parkade is Thunderbird Parkade (paid parking), located at 6085 Thunderbird Blvd, University Endowment Lands, BC V6T 2A1. It is a -minute walk to the fields.

- Daytime – 6am-6pm – $2.00 for half hour – Max $20
- Evenings & Weekends- $2.00 for half hour – Max $10

PATHWAY TO BC BEARS
The 2024 VSI will act as a critical stage of the selection process for the 2024 BC Bears Age-Grade 7s teams.
In line with the BC Rugby Selection Policy, we aim to provide several opportunities for players, as individuals and as part of a team, to demonstrate their ability and character.
BC Bears 7s Program Coaches will attend the 2024 VSI 7s to identify players for selection ahead of the 2024 Global Youth Sevens in December, as well as identifying future talent for 2025 BC Bears Programs.
