BC Rugby is delighted to reveal the 2026 Northern & Interior Summer League Schedules, with all roads leading to the 2026 BC Rugby Saratoga Cup in Fernie – register now for the upcoming season!
The 2026 BC Rugby Northern and Interior Club League season is set for another big year of Rugby as the Men’s and Women’s Teams across three regions fight for a berth at the annual Saratoga Cup event in August.
The season is traditionally divided across three regions – Central Interior Rugby, the Okanagan Rugby Union and the Kootenays Rugby Union – and features 10 Clubs at the heart of their respective communities.
With fixtures taking place from April through August, Clubs will navigate a packed schedule with all eyes focused on the season-ending 2026 BC Rugby Saratoga Cup hosted in Fernie on August 8-9. Both the Men’s and Women’s Saratoga Cups remained in the Okanagan region following last year’s event as Yeti Rugby Club (Women’s) and Vernon Jackals RFC (Men’s) were crowned 2025 Champions in Salmon Arm.
Don’t forget to register for what will be a thrilling summer of Club Rugby throughout British Columbia!
BUSY SUMMER SCHEDULE
Contrary to the Island and Lower Mainland Rugby communities, these three regions play their Rugby during the summer months on account of the challenging winter weather experienced between Fall and Spring.
Our Northern and Interior Leagues showcase the incredible enthusiasm and passion within our sport, with Club roots running deep. Teams can travel over 10 hours across the province to face their divisional rivals, which perfectly encapsulates the commitment shown by Clubs and their Members. It’s not just about who wins on the pitch, with competition extending to who can best host off it! From banquets and BBQs to summer parties, the North and Interior Leagues represent a true festival of Rugby each season.
Women’s sides will travel with Men’s teams as these regions continue to see impressive growth in programming, while Mini Rugby/Rookie Rugby programming will also take place throughout the summer – check out your local Clubs for more!
The season will culminate at the annual Saratoga Cup event on August 8-9, returning to the Kootenays Region this rotation, and will feature both Men’s and Women’s competition for the fifth successive year: a true testament to the growth of the sport in these regions.
This highly-anticipated Saratoga Cup event brings together the top Men’s and Women’s teams from across these regions, and remains one of the most enjoyable Rugby weekends in the BC Rugby calendar.
2026 SARATOGA CUP HEADING TO FERNIE!
The Saratoga Cup will be on the line in both Men’s and Women’s Competitions this year, with teams fighting for the remaining berths across the regions.
As the 2026 Hosts, Elk Valley RFC will automatically qualify for the season-ending event with the remaining three spots on the Men’s side filled by the top team in each region (second-placed team will qualify from the Kootenays Region should Elk Valley finish top). Women’s teams will be confirmed closer to the event.
In the Central Interior League, 2024 Champions Terrace Northmen RFC faces top opposition in Prince George Gnats RFC, Prince Rupert Seamen/Sirens and the Williams Lake Rustlers. Defending champions Vernon Jackals RFC will battle the world-famous Penticton Harlequins RFC and Yeti Rugby Club in the Okanagan Division, with the Yeti Women’s team the reigning Saratoga Cup Champions.
Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain Rogues – who lifted Men’s titles in 2021, 2022, and 2023 – will face off against Trail RFC and Elk Valley for the Kootenay Cup.
Don’t miss your chance to witness the best Rugby action in Northern and Interior BC – join your local Club and enjoy a fantastic summer of Rugby!
