The BC Bears 7s Teams compete throughout the year and play against other Provincial or Representative Teams, as well as teams from around the world.
Rugby 7s is big in British Columbia and offers a different pathway to XVs. The BC Bears 7s Teams compete at Championships and tournaments which are attended by Rugby Canada Coaches and Selectors. Click on the below teams for more information:
BC Bears Senior Men’s 7s
The BC Senior Men’s 7s team has a strong history of competing in tournaments and championships both in BC and North America, including the Vancouver Rugby Festival and Las Vegas Invitational.
Many players who have represented the BC Bears have gone on to play for Canada’s National Sevens Teams in both the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and the Olympic Games, including Jake Thiel, Phil Berna, Nathan Hirayama and Harry Jones.

The BC Bears U18 7s Programs will compete at the 2026 Global Youth Sevens in December 2026.

- January 31, 2026 – Testing and ID Session (including those invited from Expression of Interest Forms)
- February 1, 2026 – Training and Trial Matches
- February 14-15, 2026 – Training and Game Preparation for VSI (invited athletes only)
- March 5-7, 2026 – Vancouver Sevens Invitational
- July 22-26, 2026 – BC Summer Games, Kelowna (U17 Girls Only)
- September 2026 – Kamloops 7s
- December 2026 – Global Youth Sevens (New Zealand)
