The BC High School Sports Provincial Championships concluded on Sunday with Rugby taking centre stage in Abbotsford.
Champions were crowned across Boys and Girls’ AAA and AA competition, as well as Boys and Girls Rugby 7s.
St. George’s School defeated rivals Shawnigan Lake 31-12 for a third successive Boys AAA Championship Banner. G.P. Vanier defeated Gleneagle 18-10 for gold in the Girls AAA.
Collingwood made it back-to-back-to-back Championships with a 19-15 win over Robert Bateman in the Boys AA, while D.W. Poppy defeated Shawnigan Lake 17-7 for gold in the Girls AA.
In Rugby 7s, Belmont was crowned Boys Provincial Champions with a 24-14 win against G.P Vanier. Aberdeen Hall took bronze.
Queen Margaret’s won Provincial gold in the Girls 7s thanks to a 17-15 win over Oak Bay, while Claremont took home the bronze.

BC Rugby Officials Development Manager, Chris Assmus, and BC Rugby Technical Director, John Tait, were on location in Abbotsford.
Chris oversaw a team of 40+ Rugby Match Officials (RMOSBC) that officiated the Championships.
