Following a review of the BC Rugby Age-Grade Bandings, the decision has been made to adjust these to U14, U16 and U18 for both Boys and Girls during the upcoming 2022/23 season and beyond.

This decision was approved at the latest BC Rugby Competitions Committee meeting, and will come into effect ahead of the new Fall season.

These bandings align with the 2022 Rugby Canada Age-Grade Law Variations and the current BC Bears Player Pathway.

BC Rugby is updating the current Age-Grade Rules of Competition to ensure that these changes allow players to transition to Senior Rugby when they are willing and able to do so, while ensuring we do not push anyone into an uncomfortable, possibly dangerous situation that they are not ready for.

It will also allow players to feel comfortable about the league they are playing in.
