BC Rugby is pleased to announce the BC Bears U23 Women’s travelling roster that will face the Alberta Wolfpack in an exciting double-header at the upcoming 2022 Western Canada Championships in Kelowna.
The BC Bears U23 Women’s team, led by Head Coach Dean Murten and Assistant Coach Brittany Waters, will face Alberta’s provincial representative side in a two-match Series over the upcoming long weekend. This marks the first BC Bears U23 Women’s action since the global pandemic.
The opening match will take place at Parkinson Recreation Park on Friday, July 29 at 7:00pm PT, with the second match at the Apple Bowl Stadium on Sunday, July 31 at 11:00am PT.

The team selection was made following successful BC Bears U23 Women ID & Development Sessions on both the Mainland and Vancouver Island, as well as the Squad’s Development Camp at UBC’s Gerald McGavin Rugby Centre in Vancouver in July. Across four days, players from across BC took part in an array of drills, skill development challenges, and team-building exercises to help Coaching staff identify BC’s top athletes.

The purpose of the Western Canada Championships is to foster the growth of competitive Rugby and provide an important pathway step through best-on-best Age-Grade competition to develop athletes towards National Team honours.
The Championships aim is to provide an appropriate development stage of competition to motivate, challenge and inspire young players, as well as Coaches and Officials.
Scores and results will be available on the BC Rugby website throughout the weekend.
