Two BC Rugby clubs are turning their October 18 Senior Club Leagues fixtures into opportunities to give back.
Capilano RFC will host its annual Pink Day at Klahanie Park in West Vancouver, featuring a full slate of matches against Burnaby Lake RFC and community activities aimed at raising funds for cancer, while Surrey Beavers AA hosts its annual Ruck for the Cure cancer fundraiser for the 10th successive year.
Both Clubs’ independent efforts highlight the strong community spirit within BC’s Rugby community – where competition on the field is matched by compassion and teamwork off it.

It’s Pink Day this Saturday at Klahanie Park as Capilano RFC hosts Burnaby Lake RFC across FIVE matches! Come and support the cause and enjoy an action-packed day of Rugby!
Supporters are encouraged to wear pink and take part in the silent auction (link below) and other on-site fundraising initiatives. The day’s run of show can be found below:

RUCK FOR THE CURE IN SURREY!
Surrey Beavers AA will continue its own tradition by holding its 10th Annual Ruck for the Cure Fundraiser following their Men’s Division 2 fixture against Meraloma RFC on Saturday (kick off 12:45pm), with proceeds also going toward cancer research. Over the past decade, the Beavers have raised over $150,000 towards fighting cancer.
The day kicks off at 11:00am with a special junior intersquad curtain-raiser between Surrey Beavers AA and Wildcats Rugby, before the regular season Men’s Division 2 match against Meraloma RFC at 12:45pm.
Following the matches, community members and fans are then invited back to Beaver Lodge HQ for jersey and silent auctions and an afternoon of fun!
