BC well represented as Canada names Men‘s and Women’s Sevens Squads for Edmonton
HSBC Canada Sevens makes Edmonton debut following return in Vancouver
Following their return to the pitch at the 2021 HSBC Canada Sevens Vancouver, Canada’s National 7s teams have announced their squads for Edmonton’s edition of the tournament this weekend.
BC is once again well represented in Canada’s Men’s and Women’s National Sevens squads. This weekend will mark the debut of the HSBC Canada Sevens in Edmonton, with the event taking place at Commonwealth Stadium, September 25-26.
The Men’s squad sees eight BC natives called up for action, with two BC stars featuring in the Women’s team.
Congratulations to Vancouver’s Phil Berna (Vancouver Rowing Club) and Nicholas Allen (UBC Thunderbirds), Abbotsford’s Jake Thiel (Abbotsford RFC), and Victoria’s Ciaran Breen (Cowichan RFC), Jack Carson (UBC Thunderbirds), Matthew Percillier (UBC Thunderbirds), Brennig Prevost (Castaway Wanderers) and Anton Ngongo (Castaway Wanderers) on their selection to the Men’s squad.

UBC Thunderbirds First Year Centre Florence Symonds also earns her first Senior National call-up following a two-try debut in the Canada West Championship last weekend!
