Congratulations to United Rugby Club in celebrating 60 years of Rugby excellence in the Tri-Cities and New Westminster region!
Established in 1963 and 1974 respectively, the PoCoMo and Douglas Rugby Clubs played an integral role in fostering the sport’s growth and promoting a strong sense of community among Rugby enthusiasts in the Tri-Cities and New Westminster before merging in 2005 to become the United Rugby Club.
Over the past six decades, Rugby has been a cornerstone of the community, promoting the values of fair play, teamwork, and camaraderie. To commemorate this remarkable milestone, the Club has planned a series of celebratory events and activities throughout the year, inviting both current and former members, supporters, and the broader community to join in the festivities.
Demonstrating its dedication to giving back to the community, United Rugby Club is engaging in charitable activities throughout the year. These initiatives underscore the club’s commitment to social responsibility and community involvement.
United Rugby Club is proudly supported by BC Rugby, Jumpstart, KidSport, and Athletics4Kids, along with grants from the City of Coquitlam. They are actively seeking sponsorship for Club activities and to make Rugby accessible to everyone.
