A BUSY SUMMER SEASON
The Kootenays Division is thriving with the addition of Trail RFC alongside the Rocky Mountain Rogues and Elk Valley RFC!
The season kicked off with the traditional Rucking in the Rockies, hosted by Elk Valley, before Clubs entered their regular season matches. The Rogues Men’s teams finished the season unbeaten, with Elk Valley winning two Men’s matches.
The growth of both Men’s and Women’s Rugby has been positive to see, with all three Clubs featuring heavily throughout the season. Mini Rugby, too, is growing very quickly – the future of Kootenays Rugby is bright!
In the Okanagan Division, Vernon Jackals finished top of the Men’s Competition with four wins and two defeats over six matches – including a 35-15 win over Yeti Rugby Club to win the Okanagan Final.
Penticton Harlequins hosted its annual SunFest 7s in June, while the Harlequins juniors also hosted the Atlantic Rock earlier in May.
In the Central Interior Division, Terrace Northmen head to defend their crown after staying unbeaten in their regular season games with four wins from four matches – including a 38-24 win over the Prince Rupert Seamen in the Central Interior Final.
Prince George Gnats registered one win against Williams Lake Rustlers, while the Rustlers also defeated Prince Rupert Seamen for their sole victory.
As always, our North and Interior Clubs completed lots of community and voluntary work throughout the season.
