Ahead of Fall European fixtures, 7 BC Players will join Canada’s Men’s Team at training camp as they prepare for test matches against the Netherlands and Namibia in mid-November.
Canada’s Senior Men’s 15s Head Coach Kingsley Jones has selected his 36-man travel squad that will head to Amsterdam this week for a camp ahead of the Team’s first fixtures since the Summer’s test matches against Belgium and Spain. After this camp, the squad will be finalized to 32 players that will be used to select Canada’s roster for the November 12th clash with the Netherlands and November 19th battle against Namibia, both held in Amsterdam.
“The whole team is very excited to get back to playing test match rugby again. We had positive performances from players in Brazil during the Americas Rugby Trophy competition. Those games allowed us to get our young talent some international experience while also giving them valuable playing time alongside some of our more experienced players.” Canada Senior Men’s XVs Head Coach Kingsley Jones
Among the mix of experienced players and young talent are 7 BC athletes; Callum Botcher (Vancouver, BC), Foster Dewitt (Courtenay, BC), Josh Thiel (Victoria, BC), Liam Murray (Langley, BC), Luke Campbell (Victoria, BC), Piers Von Dadelszen (Vancouver, BC) and Siaki Vikilani (Burnaby, BC).
Named in this squad is also Kainoa Llyod who was named to the BC Bears Senior Men’s 7s roster that competed at the 2022 RugbyTown 7s Tournament in Denver, Colorado.
