A range of youth and adult Touch Rugby leagues will be held throughout the province this summer, as we begin to restart our sport following the global pandemic.
We know it has been a long time since you stepped out onto a Rugby pitch. We encourage you to use this summer to reconnect with the sport (and have plenty of fun) in preparation for what we hope will be a return to contact Rugby this Fall.

Don’t Miss Out on the Touch Rugby Boom!
During the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, Touch Rugby enjoyed a big boom throughout BC. Many of our Clubs were able to deliver the popular, free-flowing, non-contact version of Rugby in a safe environment.
By offering Touch Rugby programs, several Clubs enjoyed a sizeable boost in Member numbers during the Fall of 2020 compared to the previous year. After introducing a Touch Rugby program, Prince Rupert Seaman FC saw a 208% rise in Members compared to 2018-19 numbers.
Evergreen Masters (150%), Twilighters Masters (79%), Comox Valley Kickers (44%), Burnaby Lake (20%), James Bay Athletic Association (19%), Port Alberni Black Sheep (16%), Scribes RFC (12%), Axemen Rugby Club (11%) and Kamloops Rugby Club (6%) all enjoyed significant upturns in Member numbers.
Providing Touch Rugby programs also helped consolidate Member numbers for several clubs in the Province, such as Capilano RFC and Castaway Wanderers, and provided Members with a fun, safe and enjoyable Rugby experience.

Why You Should Play Touch Rugby
The best thing about Touch – no previous Rugby experience is required and absolutely anyone can play! It’s a great way to get into Rugby if you have never played before.
Touch Rugby is a fun, safe, non-contact variation of one of the world’s most popular sports. It’s a Co-Ed game where everyone gets involved. Using the same ball, but smaller teams and playing areas, the idea is to use teamwork, pace and cunning to outfox your opponents and score in the designated end zone.
Touch is exciting, super sociable and a great way to meet new friends – or see a different side of work colleagues!
